Sophie Cooney has joined Southside OB/GYN as a Physician Assistant. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Southern Illinois University and completed her Master of Physician’s Assistant Studies (MPAS) from Butler University. Before joining Axia, Sophie worked as a PA in Thoracic Surgery at St. Vincent Hospital.   Sophie enjoys collaborating with her physician colleagues to coordinate and provide patient care in the operating room, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Sophie and her husband currently live north of Indianapolis and have two golden retrievers, Finn and Penny, and a 4-year-old cat, Mao. Outside of the office, Sophie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her two dogs, and relaxing while watching Netflix.
