Dr. Dana Ortiz Teller, a native of West Orange, NJ, completed her OB/GYN residency at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine in Manhasset, NY. She earned a bachelor of science in human physiology at Boston University, where she graduated magna mum laude and a doctor of medicine degree from Rutgers, New Jersey School of Medicine where she distinguished herself by achieving admittance to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society.
Dr. Ortiz Teller was an active participate in her residency program, where she served as OBGYN representative for the Resident Fellow Forum, which supports the Northwell Health system in developing the strongest, most efficient, and innovative residency programs. She was elected Administrative Chief Resident by her peers, and appointed Teaching Associate in Obstetrics & Gynecology by the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. Dr. Ortiz Teller has researched and presented on topics including postpartum hemorrhage and blood transfusions. Earlier in 2018, Dr. Ortiz won the Chief Resident Leadership Award and was recognized for Outstanding Resident Paper by the New York Obstetrical Society.
Dr. Ortiz Teller is trained in basic and high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and has a special interest in adolescent gynecology. She is thrilled to be serving her hometown community and looks forward to building on the foundation The Rubino OB/GYN Group has established in West Orange and Madison.
