Read MoreMichele Strykowsky was born at the original Virtua Voorhees hospital and raised in Mount Laurel, NJ. She lived in Philadelphia while completing her college education and received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Drexel University. While pursuing her degree, she completed co-op work experiences at Jefferson and HUP. During her senior year, she took on additional coursework pertaining to human lactation, which provided a foundation in breastfeeding education, promotion, and support for her patients.
Upon graduation, Michele accepted a position as a Registered Nurse on the Maternal/Infant Unit at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. After two years, she moved closer to home and accepted a position on the same maternity unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she continued to work exclusively nightshift. It was during this transition that she was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania to pursue a Masters degree in the Women’s Health/Gender-Related Nurse Practitioner program.
Michele’s personal pronouns are she/her/hers. She believes in providing inclusive health care for all, and she is passionate in her commitment to provide high quality care to her female and gender nonconforming patients. Michele is an advocate for empowerment through education and encourages her patients to take an active role in their care.
After graduating from UPenn in 2019, Michele was board certified by the National Certification Cooperation as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She currently resides in Cherry Hill with her fiancé Jon and their three cats, former “foster-fails” from her time volunteering with the Voorhees Animal Welfare Association. She enjoys traveling near and far, with past experiences including solo backpacking adventures throughout Africa and Eastern Europe. She also enjoys summers relaxing with family and friends at their shore house in Sea Isle City.
