Jennifer Umek has been a Registered Nurse for more than thirty years and worked as a labor and delivery nurse for more than twenty years. She received her Nursing Diploma from Frankford Hospital School of Nursing and her Associates degree in Science from Penn State in 1992. She later decided to return to school and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilmington University in 2017. She maintained Dean’s List during her education at Wilmington University and became a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nurses, while also raising three children and working full time nightshift.
Jennifer gained a passion for women’s health while working as a labor and delivery nurse. She became certified in Inpatient Obstetrics by the National Certification Corporation in 2011, and then decided to advance her profession to become a Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 2022. She then earned the distinction of a Board-Certified Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner from the National Certification Corporation in June 2022.
Jennifer and her husband live in Pennsylvania and share three daughters and two grandchildren. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and reading. She especially loves to spoil her grandchildren, TJ and Isabela.
