Women’s Health Associates of Bucks County (WHABC) serves women of all ages in the Bucks County area. All providers are highly skilled in obstetric and gynecological (OB/GYN) women’s health care. Our team of compassionate and experienced board-certified physicians has been delivering excellent patient care since 2008. The office is conveniently located in the St. Clare Medical Building on the campus of St. Mary Medical Center and we deliver babies at St. Mary Hospital.
We provide the highest level of quality women’s healthcare and service available today. Women’s Health Associates offers individualized attention in a warm, friendly environment. Long-term, loyal patients are a hallmark of our care center, with some families having multiple children delivered by the same physician, even across several generations.
Meet our caring providers:
Lee Stacy Halpern, M.D., FACOG
Dr. Lee Stacy Halpern received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Halpern is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She was named Outstanding Resident in Gynecology Endoscopy by the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists.
Her Philosophy of Care:
“The most fulfilling part of being an OB/GYN is finding a way to make patients feel comfortable and at ease – we do our very best to provide a friendly, welcoming environment to each patient. I think another one of our strengths is personalized care. We get to know each patient and respect each woman’s differences.”
David DeFilippis, M.D., FACOG
Dr. DeFilippis received his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, D.C. He completed his post-graduate training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. DeFilippis is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has served on the Georgetown University Medical School Admission Committee and as a member of the Thomas Jefferson University Perinatal Collaborative Research Committee. Dr. DeFilippis received an award for Outstanding Teaching in a Clinical Setting for Junior and Senior Medical Students, as well as the Elizabeth Labovitz Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching, from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He also has served in numerous hospital administrative positions, including former Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Frankford Hospitals, and as a member of the Outpatient Board of Directors at Holy Redeemer Hospital. He is currently Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN and serves on the Medical Executive Committee. He has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgery and da Vinci Robotic Gynecological Surgery.

Stephen Cleary, M.D., FACOG
Dr. Cleary received his medical degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, where he also received a Residents Teaching Award. Board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Cleary is a member of the American Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Cleary is proficient in da Vinci Robotic Gynecological Surgery.
His Philosophy of Care:
“Being an OB/GYN for more than 25 years has afforded me the opportunity to care for women during the many stages of their lives. It is an honor and so rewarding to share in the moment of birth. I have even had the pleasure of delivering babies for moms whom I delivered years ago.”
Jessica Hirsch, M.D.
Dr. Hirsch earned her medical degree from Tel Aviv University in Israel and completed her OBGYN residency at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. She is board eligible for Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of ACOG and AAGL. Upon completion of her residency she was recognized for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and has a special interest in da Vinci Robotic Gynecologic Surgery. Dr. Hirsch’s interest in Women’s Health extends internationally and she has participated in Women’s Health initiatives in Latin American and the Middle East.
Her philosophy of care:
“I became a gynecologist because I wanted to care for women throughout their lives – pregnancies and beyond. Each woman I meet has unique needs and I strive to provide the best, individualized care possible.”
Maureen E. Gallagher, MSN, CRNP
Maureen E. Gallagher is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Holy Family University in Philadelphia, and then went on to earn her Masters of Science degree in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner program at LaSalle University. Prior to joining the Women’s Health Associates of Bucks County, she has worked for seven years as a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit at St. Mary Medical Center. She has also worked as a Clinical Instructor, supervising and teaching nursing students at La Salle University.
Maureen E. Gallagher is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. In addition, she is licensed in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Stroke Life Support. She displays a multitude of Nurse Practitioner Proficiencies, among these being neurologic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and breast exams, sports physicals, interpretation of EKGs and chest x-rays, and providing thorough education to her patients.
Brittany Baron, CRNP
Brittany received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Temple University and her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner at La Salle University. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). After being a Labor & Delivery Nurse for over six years, Brittany decided she wanted to expand her passion for Women’s Health by being able to treat women throughout the decades. Being a Women’s Health NP has offered her the opportunity to not only manage and care for women throughout their pregnancy but also see women for any of their gynecological needs. Brittany lives here in Bucks County with her husband and 7-month-old son. On down time, she enjoys taking spin classes and traveling as much as she can.

Our physicians and staff believe expectant mothers deserve to feel special during this exciting time in their lives. Each member of the care center is committed to providing the highest quality obstetric services to every woman, including those experiencing high-risk pregnancies.
To ensure a level of comfort and familiarity with each physician, expectant mothers meet and spend time with all four of the practice’s doctors prior to their delivery date.
Our expectant mothers deliver at St. Mary Medical Center. St. Mary’s has spacious and private homelike birthing suites for labor and delivery. After delivery, new mothers can rest comfortably in private suites, each with its own bathroom. The nursery staffed by nurses with training in specialized care for newborns in a safe, secure environment.
