Introducing Precision Prenatal NIPT

 

The Precision Prenatal non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) is a screening procedure that provides you with genetic information about your baby.  Precision Prenatal uses a simple blood sample from the mother to analyze DNA from the placenta and fetus for certain chromosome conditions that could affect a baby’s health. This early screening offers the power to make educated decisions about future testing, your pregnancy, and baby’s care.  Precision Prenatal is offered as early at 10 weeks into your pregnancy and poses no risk to your baby.

 

What does Precision Prenatal NIPT Screen for?


The Precision Prenatal NIPT screens for the following chromosomal conditions:

  • Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome)
  • Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome)
  • Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome)
  • Triploidy
  • Monosomy X
  • Sex-chromosome aneuploidies
  • Fetal sex (optional)

Why Precision Prenatal NIPT?


Precision Prenatal NIPT can distinguish the difference between the mother’s and the baby’s DNA. This ability results in:

  

Fewer false positives and fewer false negatives. For example, our false positive rate for Down syndrome is less than 1%, with a greater than 99% accuracy rate for detection.

 

Highest reported gender accuracy of any NIPT (gender reporting is optional)1,2,3

 

Ability to detect triploidy, a severe chromosomal abnormality that can result in serious pregnancy complications if unmonitored

 

What do the Precision Prenatal NIPT results tell me?


Precision Prenatal NIPT provides a personalized risk score to understand if your baby is at high or low risk for screening conditions such as Down syndrome. Similar to other screening tests, Precision Prenatal does not provide a definitive diagnosis, but helps to inform regarding the appropriateness of future, or potentially more invasive, testing.
