“I feel fortunate to have found a career for which I am passionate about and love. My goal is to approach every interaction with respect and an open mind and simply just listen. I encourage my patients to advocate for themselves and ask questions so they can gain a full understanding of their plan of care.”
Joanne obtained her undergraduate degree at Cook College, Rutgers University, in Biological Sciences. Originally focusing on pre-med with the goal of pursuing a career as an OB/GYN physician, Joanne found her passion for nursing while working at a local hospital. She valued the relationships that she saw developing between the nurses and patients, rather than the quicker interactions with physicians. At that time, she changed the course of her education from pre-med to nursing, with a focus on midwifery and women’s health. She attended Columbia University School of Nursing, where she obtained both an undergraduate degree in nursing and a graduate degree in midwifery and women’s health.
Joanne has worked in various settings, including private practice, hospital, hospital-based practice, and birth center. She believes in informed decision making and open dialog with patients to create a tailored healthcare experience, whether it is during a routine gynecologic exam or prenatal appointment, or if it during their labor and birthing journey.
Joanne lives in Somerset County with her husband, Manny, and two children, Audrey and Brayden. She enjoys reading, listening to music, walking, yoga, pilates, strength training, as well as hiking, camping, and bird watching.
