Tonya Fenzl is a Fort Wayne native who graduated from Carroll High School and began her education locally including Ivy Tech and IPFW. After spending more than 20 years in labor and delivery Tonya went on to graduate as a midwife from Frontier University of Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky.
Tonya has since published a book for support of fathers in pregnancy titled The NFL Behind (No Father Left Behind), traveled with mission trips to Haiti teaching childbirth and caring for children, lived in Somalia for a month where she taught midwifery across Africa with Edna Adan, and was invited to Dubai for the International Midwifery Conference as the keynote speaker presenting her data on Applied Midwifery: Can We Please Start Utilizing Manipulation, Rotation, and Early Pushing?
After living in Ohio and more recently Florida, Tonya has joyfully returned to Fort Wayne with her four adopted children. She also has three adult children and two grandchildren (and counting). Tonya enjoys travel, movies, warm cozy fires, Jazz music and meeting with friends.
