Important Announcement:
After 30 years of providing obstetrical care and delivering over 4,000 babies for patients living in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, as of January 2022, Dr. Anthopoulos will be stopping obstetrics and will instead focus exclusively on providing gynecological services. Dr. Anthopoulos plans to see patients for the full spectrum of gynecologic needs, including performing annual well woman visits and offering same day problem visits. He will continue treating patients with a wide range of gynecologic problems and disorders, such as abnormal bleeding, fertility issues, and menopausal concerns, as well as providing contraceptive services. Dr Anthopoulos will also be performing office and outpatient gynecologic surgical procedures. Dr. Anthopoulos will be seeing GYN patients at the Axia Paoli OB/GYN care center locations in Paoli, Collegeville, and King of Prussia. He will maintain his affiliation with Paoli Hospital within the Main Line Health System. Pregnant patients can continue to be seen by the other excellent health care providers at Axia Paoli OB/GYN.
Dr. Anthopoulos, (“Dr. A” to many patients) was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. A 1980 graduate of Harriton High School in Rosemont, PA, he attended Haverford College where he majored in biology. Dr. Anthopoulos obtained his medical degree in 1988 from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA and went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1992 at the Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA. He has been in private practice within the Main Line Health System since 1992 and is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In addition to providing a comprehensive range of obstetric and gynecologic services for his patients, including the care of both low and high risk pregnancies, Dr. Anthopoulos also has particular interests in performing minimally invasive surgery, office surgery, and in treating fertility disorders. He is fluent in both Greek and French. Outside of medicine, Dr. A is a soccer fan and is a season ticket holder with the Philadelphia Union. He also enjoys travel with his family, to Europe and the Caribbean.
