Navpreet Chattha, MD

Originally from California, Dr. Chattha started her education growing up in San Jose, California. She excelled in honors and AP classes that inspired her medical interest in a Medical Magnet program in High school. Dr. Chattha went to the University of California-Irvine where she studied Biological sciences. As much as science interested her, it still was not enough and Dr. Chattha craved more but was still uncertain in which field. She took some time away from school for her family, but continued to explore her passion, and although her path was long, it allowed her to learn she had many passions. Dr. Chattha worked with animals as a vet assistant where she continued to practice her childhood love for animals. Dr. Chattha began tutoring students in all subjects and all grades, which formulated her passion to teach and work with adolescents. When she started volunteering and assisting in an OB/GYN office, Dr. Chattha realized the passion that would fulfill her the most.

As Dr. Chattha witnessed her first delivery, she watched the interaction between the patient and the OB/GYN and was inspired by the tremendous support, compassion, and reassurance that the physician was able to provide her patient. Dr. Chattha knew then that she wanted to be a physician and be the one projecting those same feelings on to her own patients. She enrolled in St. George’s University School of Medicine to pursue this dream. Keeping an open mind to every field of medicine- on her first day of my OB/GYN clerkship, Dr. Chattha knew this was the field for her. She loves the idea of treating her patients throughout their entire lives, from adolescence, to reproductive age, and through menopause. With interests in every aspect of obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Chattha is committed to providing excellent and comprehensive care to her patients. Exercising her passion for teaching, Dr. Chattha enjoys educating her patients as well as the community about the importance of women’s health.

On her off days Dr. Chattha loves to cook, read a great book, paint, explore the outdoors, and spend time with her family.
