Dr. Owunna was raised in Macon, Georgia where her father was a sole practitioner OB/GYN for over 25 years. Dr. Owunna earned her BA in Biological Anthropology from Harvard University and her Doctorate of Medicine form Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She served her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where she earned the Professionalism Award and the Berlex Laboratories Best Teaching Resident.
Dr. Owunna joined OB/GYN of East Brunswick in 2004 and became Board Certified. She has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the New Jersey Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and the Medical Society of New Jersey.
In her free time, Dr. Owunna enjoys activities with her children, reading novels and traveling. She hopes to become involved in medical missions to serve the underprivileged here and in the developing world.
