Vincent R. Lucente, MD, MBA, FACOG, FPMRS is Medical Director of the Institute for Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and Chief of Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dr. Lucente also holds an academic appointment as Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia.
Dr. Lucente is board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He earned his medical degree at the School of Medicine of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his postgraduate training at Methodist Hospital of Indiana through a fellowship in urogynecology. He later earned an MBA in medical management from DeSales University. A Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Lucente is a member of many professional associations including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, the American Uro-Gynecologic Society, The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the International Uro-gynecologic Society.
He is consistently named one of America’s Top Doctors, and twice he has been awarded the Physician’s Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. Dr. Lucente has a passion for teaching and lectures nationally on clinical advancements in urogynecology and trains physicians worldwide in the techniques and procedures of minimally invasive reconstructive pelvic surgery, including a fellowship program for advanced training beyond a residency and a physician preceptorship program for Urogynecology In 2015, Dr. Lucente was bestowed the privilege of receiving the most coveted award in his field, the Raymond A. Lee Endowment. This American Uro-Gynecologic Society award is to honor one person who contributed to the development and surgical advancement of urogynecology and to further advance the knowledge and teaching of gynecologic surgery through ongoing AUGS educational programs. Most recently in June 2021, Dr. Lucente was given the “Distinguished Surgeons” award by the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons for his significant contribution in advancing the field of gynecologic surgery.
Since 1998, Dr. Lucente has been an innovator in his field, and has performed several first in the country and even the world urogynecologic procedures, which have now become the “gold standards” of care.
