Dr. Miles Murphy graduated cum laude from Tufts University in 1991 and then went on to attend medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lehigh Valley Hospital and then did a three-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery/Urogynecology at the University of Louisville where he also earned a Masters of Science degree in Public Health.
He has authored numerous book chapters, over 35 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, and is a reviewer for many scientific journals including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the International Urogynecology Journal. Dr. Murphy has served as the Chair of the Scientific Program Committee of the American Urogynecology Society and is a Past President of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. He is the Co-Medical Director for the Institute of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, an Associate Professor at Thomas Jefferson University, and Chief of the Section of Urogynecology at Abington-Jefferson Health just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Murphy finds the field of urogynecology so rewarding because of the various treatments available, and the ability to improve his patient’s quality of life. When Dr. Murphy isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and two yellow labs.
