Dr. Jennifer Rich grew up in a suburb outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania. She graduated summa cum laude from Bucknell University with a major in biomedical engineering and a minor in philosophy. She then moved to Philadelphia to complete medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. During her time in medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and received The Burton L. Wellenbach Award for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medical Ethics. She volunteered extensively with JeffHOPE (Health, Opportunities, Prevention, Education), serving as Medical Clinic Director for a women and children’s shelter.
Dr. Rich remained at Jefferson to complete her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and served as an Administrative Chief Resident during her final year of training. During her training, she received multiple awards for excellence in teaching, as well as the Outstanding Minimally Invasive Surgery Award from the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons. She also completed additional coursework to became a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. She is thrilled to be a part of Garden State OB/GYN, who she was able to work with during her residency training.
Dr. Rich lives in Philadelphia with her husband and enjoys spending her time baking, reading, exploring new restaurants, and spending the summers with her family at the Jersey shore.
