Dr. Cañas completed her undergraduate studies at Colgate University in Upstate New York in 2008. After college, she worked as a research coordinator at Weill Cornell Medical College looking at different medical treatment options for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She then returned to Upstate New York where she completed her medical education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2015. Her medical training journey continued in Detroit, Michigan where she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
When Dr. Cañas is not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family. She is fluent in Spanish, and some of her hobbies include outdoor runs and boxing.
