Dr. Alan E. Donnenfeld is a partner of Main Line Perinatal Associates and a member of fAxia Women’s Health Group in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University. He graduated Magna cum laude from Colby College in 1978 and received his medical degree from Darthmouth Medical School in 1981. Following residency at Pennsylvania Hospital, he completed a fellowship in Human Genetics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Genetics and Clinical Cytogenetics. He is a fellow in the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, a founding fellow of the American Collge of Medical Genetics, and a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the International Society of Prenatal Diagnosis, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Teratology Society. He is certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation and the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine in first trimester screening and has authored over 100 peer reviewed publications, 120 abstracts, and 16 book chapters. He has served as Program Chairman of the American College of Medical Genetics and is past President of the Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia. His primary areaas of expertise include perinatal genetic consultations, fetal dysmorphology, population screening for genetic disease, teratology, pernatal ultrasonography and invasive pernatal diagnosis (chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis).
