Janet Drake Whalen PT, DPT

Janet Drake Whalen, PT, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist with an additional direct
access license. She has a long career supporting women in their wellness journey, focusing
on the abdominal wall, viscera, scar mobility and pelvic health. As a compassionate
listener, she seeks to understand the needs of her patients to enhance their recovery and
well-being.
Janet graduated from Temple University and pursued her doctorate in physical therapy from
Evidence in Motion. Her professional career has led to certifications as a Lamaze Certified
Childbirth Educator, Professional Yoga Therapeutic Instructor, Therapeutic Pain Specialist
and Pelvic Health Physical Therapist form the American Physical Association’s Academy of
Pelvic Health. She is a certified Women’s Health Coach and Perimenopause and
Menopause Health Coach through the Integrative Women’s Health Institute.
In 2024, she participated in Birth Doula training and continues to teach skills of Lamaze
Childbirth Education to her pregnant patients, emphasizing the importance of self-education in birth to mitigate unintended trauma during and after delivery.
In addition to her clinical work, she is a lead teaching assistant for Herman and Wallace
Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She brings continuing education to the local community of
physical and occupational therapists, expanding their knowledge of pelvic health.
Janet brings expertise, knowledge, and compassion to our pelvic health therapy program.
Outside of the clinic, Janet enjoys traveling, yoga, meditation, and playing with her dog and
grandchildren.
