Dr. Kessel has been in OB/GYN practice since 2002. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, with an M.S. in Biological Sciences and his M.D. from Wayne State University. He completed his residency training at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. He advanced his career in New York at academic medical centers, including New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center, and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Kessel specialized in basic and high-risk obstetrics, abnormal uterine bleeding, fertility, endometriosis, and menopausal symptoms. He collaborates with patients to develop specific, individualized strategies for health care concerns. This includes both medical treatments and office-based minimally invasive procedures, including uterine cryoablation, to significantly improve patient outcomes and reduce heavy menstrual bleeding.
Dr. Kessel also has significant experience in the evaluation of fertility for his patients and their partners. He proactively works with patients to develop long-term strategies to optimize fertility. He also utilizes ovulation-induction agents, and intrauterine insemination in appropriate cases, and collaborates with the outstanding reproductive medicine specialists in the area. Dr. Kessel additionally employs an array of treatment options for other gynecologic conditions, including menopausal symptoms, and for the management and control of endometriosis. His breadth of experience in the field, affable personality and patient-centered approach have made him a natural fit for the practice.
Dr. Kessel is a screenwriter and has a 1st degree black belt in Hapkido.
