Top Gender Reveal Ideas We Love

Gender or baby sex-reveal announcements have exploded on social media in recent years. It’s no wonder, given what an exciting moment this can be for expecting couples! Whether your vibe is an intimate gathering or a lavish party, we’re sharing a variety of ways to celebrate your little bundle of joy.

1. Say it with something sweet

Gender reveal cupcakes or a cake are a simple and easily scalable way to celebrate – whether you’re hosting with immediate family or a large group. Have the treat filled with blue or pink icing to keep the surprise alive until you bite into it.

2. Embrace your athletic side

If your partner loves golf or tennis, this one’s for you! Websites like Etsy offer a wide array of confetti and powder filled golf and tennis balls. Swing away and watch the ball explode into a beautiful cloud of pink or blue.

3. Showcase big brother or big sister

Making sure your current child or children feel special is important, too. What’s cuter than posting a photo of the older sibling wearing a “Big Brother” or “Big Sister” shirt to celebrate the news!

4. Play a guessing game

If you’re hosting a get-together, this is a simple way to get guests involved in the fun. When guests arrive, have them write their guess down on a piece of paper. Announce the gender at the end and award those who guessed right with a prize.

5. Make it pop with balloons

With some simple supplies from a local craft store (i.e., opaque black balloons, blue or pink paint or powder, a peg board), you can create a fun balloon popping game for guests. There are dozens of YouTube and blog tutorials on how to create this at home and endless ways to make it your own!

What if you also want to be surprised? Enlist some help! You can ask your sonographer to write down the sex of the baby on a piece of paper and only share it with a close friend or family member.
