Read MoreCasey Vizenor was born and raised in California and graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. During college she studied abroad in both South Africa and Argentina, volunteering her time in health clinics in both areas. She attended nursing and Midwifery school at the Yale School of Nursing in New Haven, Connecticut. During nursing school, she used her fluency in Spanish to work as a translator at Haven Health Clinic. While completing her Midwifery education, Casey worked as a nurse at Danbury Birth Center, as well as Yale Health. She also traveled to Laos to train nurses in the Salavan Province to use and distribute Clean Birth Kits to help reduce neonatal and maternal infection during birth.
Casey is Board Certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board, as well as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Cooperation. She is also a member of the International Nursing Honor Society. Casey resides in Philadelphia, where she enjoys cooking and exploring the many different restaurants of the city. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running, and travel.
