Axia Women’s Health Laboratory Receives Accreditation From CAP

JANUAARY 25, 2018, Oaks, PA — The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has awarded accreditation to the WHCGPA Laboratory of Axia Women’s Health, based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP’s Accreditation Program. The facility’s director, Tim Zheng, M.D., Ph.D., was advised of this national recognition from CAP for the excellence of the services being provided.

The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s, as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own inspection program.  During the CAP accreditation process, designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.

“We are honored to achieve this prestigious accreditation from CAP,” said Dr. Zheng. “The accreditation provides additional validation of the strength and robustness of our internal laboratory processes and procedures, and also really highlights WHCGPA Laboratory commitment to the highest standards of quality in laboratory services and patient care”.

Charlie Choi, CEO of Axia Women’s Health, congratulated the lab by saying, “This is an incredible achievement for a lab; kudos to the team for the hard work, time, and effort required to attain this highly recognized certification.”
